Speaking to Metaratings.ru, the ex-Super Eagles striker praised the Napoli star but emphasized that Nigeria boasts depth and quality across the squad.
"All the players of the Nigerian national team are very good. Victor Osimhen is the best striker in the world today. Unfortunately, he will not take part in this game," Emenike said.
"But other good players will come to Russia besides him. For example, Victor Boniface and Moses Simon.
"These are good players who are capable of a lot. There are many talents in Nigerian football now."
Boniface, who recently had an impressive season with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, and Nantes winger Simon are among the key players expected to feature in the friendly against Russia.
The fixture is set to be a highly anticipated clash, as both teams prepare with strong squads despite injuries and absentees.
Emenike, who scored 21 goals in 42 league appearances during his time at Spartak, remains closely connected to Russian football and continues to follow developments from his home in Nigeria.
He praised the competitive spirit of both national teams and expressed excitement ahead of the encounter.
While Osimhen’s absence is a blow, Emenike’s comments emphasize Nigeria’s growing reputation for producing top-level talent capable of performing on the international stage.
The friendly offers a valuable opportunity for players like Boniface and Simon to further cement their roles in the national setup.
